AT A GLANCE
A little context.
A world of possibility.
A varied trekking region reached through Pokhara, from forested foothills to high mountain valleys.
One region, many routes
The Annapurna region includes short hill treks, the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Annapurna Circuit and access toward Mustang and Manang. Route names are not interchangeable: ask for the exact trailheads, overnight stops and highest planned point.
Landscape changes quickly
The wider conservation area spans forested middle hills, high Himalayan terrain and trans-Himalayan landscapes. Conditions, seasonality and equipment needs vary across that range, so broad labels such as 'moderate' need a route-specific explanation.
Start with current requirements
Pokhara is a common gateway, but permits and guide requirements depend on the chosen route. Check Nepal Tourism Board and the responsible conservation authority, then confirm arrangements with the provider delivering the trip.
