AT A GLANCE
A little context.
A world of possibility.
Terai forests, grasslands and river systems in one of Nepal's UNESCO-listed natural landscapes.
A protected Terai landscape
Chitwan National Park is one of Nepal's two natural World Heritage properties. Its riverine systems, sal forest and grasslands support significant wildlife. Sightings remain unpredictable; a responsible plan values the ecosystem rather than promising a checklist of animals.
Choose activities responsibly
Ask who operates each activity, what park rules apply and how wildlife distance is managed. Prefer a clear briefing and realistic expectations over guaranteed-sighting language. Follow current instructions from park staff and qualified local naturalists.
Allow for the journey
Chitwan is commonly linked with Kathmandu, Pokhara or Lumbini. Confirm the actual gateway, transfer and accommodation location because 'Chitwan' can describe a wider area than the park entrance used by your itinerary.
