AT A GLANCE
A little context.
A world of possibility.
Mountain valleys, Tamang communities and alpine landscapes north of Kathmandu.
A mountain region near Kathmandu
Langtang National Park contains routes through the Langtang Valley as well as journeys toward Gosaikunda and Helambu. Road access commonly begins through Dhunche or Syabrubesi, but current journey and trail conditions need direct confirmation.
Culture belongs in the plan
The region is home to Tamang communities and long-established mountain settlements. Approach villages, monasteries and homestays as lived places, follow local guidance and ask before photographing people or ceremonies.
Route rules differ
Nepal Tourism Board lists Langtang routes under current TIMS and guide provisions, while specific border areas may have additional controls. Verify the exact itinerary rather than applying one permit statement to the whole region.
