AT A GLANCE
A little context.
A world of possibility.
Use the gaps in an itinerary to guide the conversation before committing.
Ask what the route description means
Request the planned start and end points, walking stages, overnight locations and travel connections. If a difficulty label is used, ask what it is based on. A single adjective does not tell you about daily effort, conditions, support or whether the plan fits your circumstances.
Separate current rules from old advice
Ask for the official sources used to check access and permit requirements for that route and those dates. Keep the source and checking date with the proposal. A blog post or remembered arrangement from another trek is not confirmation of the rules for your journey.
Clarify roles and arrangements
Ask who would organize and deliver the trek, what equipment is included, how changes are agreed and what written terms apply. Request factual details rather than broad assurances. Do not infer licenses, affiliations or support commitments from a logo or an attractive profile page.
Take personal decisions to the right professional
The planning conversation cannot establish medical fitness or guarantee safety. Obtain appropriate professional advice for personal health and insurance questions, and ask the provider about the limits of their service. Basecamp24 does not turn an enquiry into a fitness assessment or a booking.
